The The Duke of Edinburgh has been announced as a new Patron for UK arts hub, the Southbank Centre, a position once held by his late mother Queen Elizabeth II.
A Southbank Centre spokesperson shared the news on the venue's Instagram, posting 'His Royal Highness visited us today to tour The Queen Elizabeth Hall, which was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in March 1967. He also visited The Hayward Gallery and The Royal Festival Hall, where he enjoyed a performance by 800 local schoolchildren from Lambeth Music Service'.
